Help Suzy Fight Her Tissues with Issues

Donation protected
Suzy went to the emergency room in October with a ruptured appendix. She had surgery to remove it, but a biopsy showed that she had a rare form of cancer of the appendix - adenocarcinoma ex-goblet cell carcinoid. Big word for a little lady. Only about 1000 cases a year. I don’t know if that makes it one in 1 million, but it would be appropriate if it is because that’s what she is. Following a battery of tests, it was determined that the best course of action was surgery to remove part of her colon, 12 lymph nodes, and have a full hysterectomy. This surgery will take place on Tuesday the 11th of December.

Suzy has been a second-grade teacher for over 20 years and loves all of her kids past, present, and future. Even the naughty ones and sometimes them even more because she feels they need it.

She can come out of the supermarket and tell you she’s made a friend standing in line at the checkout. You can go to a ball game with her and she may not even know who’s playing but she’ll know all about the people sitting around her. She likes ghosts and dislikes ghost hunters that yell at them before they know the reason for the hauntings.

She has a smile that literally lights up a room and makes everyone feel better. She is best and kindest person I know and always has a kind thing to say about everyone even if it’s just “bless their heart.” On the rare occasions that she does say something negative about someone you can believe that they really deserve it.

She’s not perfect, but I’m sure she’s OK with that because she would probably find it boring.

While going through all of this, Suzy is updating everyone on her Facebook, the idea being that no one has really shared their experience with this type of cancer. She has decided to put her incredible writing skills to use in an effort to give hope to those diagnosed with this cancer in the future.

She deserves so much better than this challenge. She’s scared but trying to put a brave face on it for her friends and family. She would never ask but charity and quite honestly, she’s terrible at accepting it. If she’s given something, she insists on paying for it. I’ve tried to tell her that’s not how charity works but she just doesn’t listen to me.

Whatever money is raised for her will be used to pay her medical bills and other necessities while she’s recuperating but I’m absolutely sure that if there is any left over, it will be used to help someone else in need. Thank you for your consideration, and whether you decide to donate or not, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share this page on social media.
