Extreme Neglect Veterinary $ Needed

We are The Ferret Aid Society. Last night 2 ferrets were brought to us in VERY bad shape. Vegas is severely underweight and Victor has survived a possible animal attack. Perhaps he was a bait animal? Bait animals are used in training dogs to attack and or fight. Who ever owned them left Victor to suffer with his wounds, he may lose his eye and is also seriously malnourished. Both ferrets are currently at our veterinary hospital being cared for. Victor's vet fees are well over $300 and will continue to climb the longer he is hospitalized and if his eye needs to be removed. Vegas hits just over $100 and this does not include the blood tests required for both of them. I wish I could estimate how much their combined care will cost but it is impossible for me to say at this point until Victor's first surgery is complete but I think without eye surgery we will need about $1000 and with eye surgery we will need $3000. Yes, veterinary care in Canada is more expensive than in the USA. Our vets are the best at what they do though and both kids are in capable hands. I thank you for your help, even $1 goes a long way. If everyone donated just $1 it would add up so fast.
