Help Samantha recover

update!!!! 1/26 they moved Sam out of ICU!!!!!! **** 

* Update 1/26 Mason and Macy were able to talk to Samantha last night. She was hoarse from the tube and her o2 is holding lower than before she was Intubated. Hopefully they will be able to discuss a new timeline for when she will be able to leave the hospital. Thank you everyone for your contributions. We are almost to our goal. Please keep sharing so we can help this family as the recovery will be long * 

*Update 1/25/22 3:23PM Tube is out! Samantha is doing well and we should be able to talk to her tonight *

* Update: 1/25/22 1:45PM from Mason, “Big news!!!!! Ventilator was turned down to 8, she did great, they turned it down to 5 and she is doing the self breathing trial right now! Debbie (Sams mom) talked to Samantha's nurse after I got my update and was told that they expect to remove the tube within the hour, we may be able to Zoom or face time tonight”

* update as of 1/25/22 - they are going to try to lower Sams PSI down to 8 today. This is the first step in getting her extubated. The recovery will be long. She’s looking at weeks perhaps even months in the hospital to recover. Then all the after care. Sam has severe asthma and allergies which is making all of this even more difficult. She cannot have any visitors in the ICU and she’s sedated. No one is there to hold her hand and tell her she’s loved and we need her and want her to get well. Please keep this in mind as you pray, meditate, and call on whatever higher power you believe in. Thoughts do travel, and the power of one, and many can move mountains, and heal. ***

Hi I’m Jen and I’m fundraising for my friend Samantha Olsen. Sam has been in the ICU since the 14th of January and on a ventilator for a week. Samantha is a loyal friend, dedicated mom and partner, and runs a print and design shop in our village. Samantha has served as the Preschool President, Bazar Coordinator and started our local Booster club to fundraise for our middle and high school team sports even though her own daughter was only in preschool at the time. If something needs to be done, Sam is there to step up and

help. In fact I’ve never seen her exhibit anything but kindness and selflessness since I’ve known her. It’s for all these reasons I want to help. Samantha needs us. She needs to know she’s loved and needed and appreciated, and whatever the future holds for Sam and her family, the financial burden they are and will experience is certain to be too much to endure without some help.
