My name is Brandi. My husband’s father recently passed away after a serious health battle. He was hospitalized in late October due to complications with his heart. He was put into a medically induced coma. While in the coma, he received a heart transplant, suffered kidney failure, underwent pneumonia & recovered from it, & seemed to be recovering & gaining consciousness. Sadly, fate took a turn & he needed emergency surgery for a rupture in his colon. His body had fought long enough & we lost him on December 31st. He was a dearly beloved father of 7. He came to America to have better life & was so proud to finally become a citizen. He raised 4 children that have served in the military. He was a proud Catholic, a wonderful role model, & a friend to all he came across. He was selfless, giving, & a hard worker. He was too young & full of life for the hand he was dealt. At this point, his children (ranging from high school age to young adult) are bearing the financial responsibility of caring for their father’s services while mourning him deeply. The cost of cremation in California & the services total to about $5,000. After several of his children purchased plane tickets twice to be with him during his medical struggles, this is quite a cost to cover unexpectedly. His family’s wishes are to send his ashes to be with his mother’s in Mexico where he will rest in peace. Any contributions to help cover the costs would be appreciated more than I can express.
