Please Help Christopher Sears!

Christopher Sears is a son, brother, grandson, nephew, father of two young boys and friend. He is only 34 and is suffering from Fibrosis Hypersensitive Pneumonitis - a severe lung disease. Chris is a Patient with the Transplant Team in Toronto General to receive a DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT AND NEEDS OUR HELP!

How it started:

His medical struggles began only a few years ago while living in an apartment riddled with mold. Chris was a healthy non smoker and although he left the apartment when mold was discovered, his health declined and his immune system was attacked. He uses an oxygen tank every day as his lungs only function at approx. 30%. His energy is low and can no longer work. He was/is a Robotics Engineer and regretfully can no longer work under Doctor’s advisement.

Chris lives at home with his parents – Deby and John Sears. His two young boys – Lincoln (9) and Logan (6) live with their mother as he struggles financially and is only receiving CPP disability.

His upcoming transplant will be in Toronto and will require many travel days back and forth from Cambridge (or if they are fortunate will stay in a hotel near Toronto). His mother, Deby will need to take a few months leave from her job at a reduced income as she is Chris's caregiver and will support him every step of the way. There is a long list of financial expenses and it's very overwhelming for the family!

Chris’s recovery is our priority but the financial demands have become a huge concern for Chris and our family. Emotions are running high and as his surgery quickly approaches our family realizes we cannot do this alone – we need your help. Please consider helping us help Chris. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

In the event there are complications post-surgery and Christopher doesn't survive, your donations will help with his funeral cost and the rest in a trust for his 2 boys Lincoln and Logan.
