RIDE FOR JORDAN
Spirit of Youth Junior Football Club and Clifton Rangers Football Club are proud to announce their ‘Ride For Jordan’.
On Tuesday 11th May, the unthinkable happened and our grassroots football community lost a treasured, incredible, special member. Jordan, a Clifton FC player was taken away at such a young age playing the sport that he adored whilst at the home ground of Spirit of Youth JFC.
We've all read and heard of the amazing things Jordan accomplished in his short life and this has inspired us to follow in his footsteps; Be Kind and Help Others.
We have spoken to Jordan's family and with their full blessing we can now share the details of the Ride for Jordan event.
On Sunday 11th July 2021, together, participants from each club, in yellow tops, (the colour of both clubs), will ride 84 miles from Common Edge Playing Fields, the home of Spirit of Youth, to Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, who Jordan was a massive supporter of, and then back again.
At Anfield, we will be greeted by officials of the club, and hopefully one or two familiar faces, who will hand over a Liverpool FC shirt, which will come back with the riders and presented to Jordan’s family along with any funds raised by the event.
We will be guided by the family on how the money will be used as there are many ideas and suggestions to consider in Jordan's memory. We can assure everyone we will transfer the funds directly to Jordan's family via their bank account, or, if the family choose to give some of the money to a charity and want us to give it directly to the chosen charity, we will do so.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and if you want to join in on the ride, the more the merrier. No matter what team you play for, we're one football family. We will
ride together, shoulder to shoulder to support Jordan's family.
