HELP NEIL BURKE WITH HIS EMERGENCY SURGERY RECOVERY

On July 21st, Neil Burke, who some of you might know from Monoroid, Life's Blood, Men's Recovery Project, Menace Dement, Landed, and more, went to his doctor to check on some stomach pain, thinking he might have developed diverticulitis. Hours later, they discovered the problem was much more serious: a tear in his intestine where some leakage had occurred. This led to some pockets of infection which hit him hard. He fell to the ground in extreme pain later that evening, and his wife, Noelle, rushed him to the ER, where he was given morphine. They gave him a CT scan and told him he'd need emergency surgery. They weren't sure how things would go until they got inside and feared that they might need to remove some of his intestines.

When he awoke from the 4-hour surgery, he was relieved that everything was left intact. They did a very thorough cleansing of his lower abdomen, then he spent nine days in the hospital for observation and recovery. The first few days were quite rough with very little sleep. He was eventually discharged but still finds himself bedridden on a slow road to recovery. He's left with a major 7 1/2" scar from the surgery and tubes they stuck in his abdomen. Now his main goal is to rest and heal so he can return to his normal routine.

That all said, Neil finds himself in a bit of a financial strain from this major surgery. He does have health insurance but is unsure how much of the hospital stay it will cover and what other charges will show up from the stay and recuperation. Additionally, he's self-employed as a screen printer and has lost both current and upcoming jobs because of this medical emergency. So, he finds himself in a precarious situation. Anything contributed 100% goes to Neil and is beyond appreciated and helps him more than you know.
