Hello, my name is Aleta and I am the daughter of Andrea Laidlaw. Andrea is well known throughout the South Portland community and she is adored by many! She went into the hospital on October 7th for knee pain. While there, she had a CT scan done and we found out she had a brain bleed and a stroke. At 9:30 pm, they moved her to ICU and told us she had lesions in her right lung, liver, stomach, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, and lesions in her brain. She has a tumor in her right hip and one on her pelvis at the base of her spine. A biopsy has revealed it is Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. She is starting treatment on October 30th. Due to the stroke, she is in a wheelchair and we desperately need a ramp for her. I’m not sure of the exact cost right now, but we’ve been told $3,500 is the ballpark. Anything helps and sharing this is greatly appreciated!!!
