I have not forgotten any of you, so I hope you have not forgotten me as I try to work my way back to my normal life again. I was supposed to start chemo yesterday but the insurance co. Was problematic, so I just got approval today for chemo. I will be starting Monday instead . I’ll update when I can. It’s not going to be easy with all the strange side effects I will be experiencing. I need to purchase a bunch of stuff to combat all the side effects. Hopefully I can keep all that straight in my brain, what to take and when to take it. I will spend 5 1/2 hrs the first day of treatment in Clifton Park and then 2 days more at home with a pump for chemo. I will be doing that regimen every 2 weeks for 2 months and then a cat scan in Boston to see progress. Possibly radiation or surgery in Boston depending on cat scan results. Then chemo again. My prognosis is “hopeful” And my reaction to therapy is fair” according to the local medical oncologist. She said she never give good prognosis for pancreatic cancer. So I hope I can be in the good prognosis category when all is done. Everyone knows someone in their family/friends who have gone through this before, so hopefully I can bring hope to all of you who have someone going through this. Talk to you all later. Thank you for all your support in prayers and Go Fund Me. I appreciate everything from everyone everyday.

Latest update from Sue:
Hi Everyone,
Well, guess what? I’m just getting out of the hospital again. I never made it to my Boston appt yesterday, b/c I was hospitalized w/pancreatitis outbreak since Sunday. AND, I was on the same floor with Kristina’s little girl, Kelsey, who is a brave little girl w/pneumonia. Unfortunately, I only found out today when I was being discharged, that she was also on the same floor. So, Kelsey could use some prayers. She is amongst all adults b/c there is no pediatric floors.
So I had to reschedule my appointment with surgeon & med oncologist until Wednesday 3/6. I will get my port put in @ 630am, then they observe me another 4 hrs. Then blood taken @ 3pm. I will find out results of CT scan and find out my treatment plan. So no progress yet. As soon as I can start chemo, the pancreas should reduce in size and tumors should reduce. Hopefully that will prevent any outbreaks of pancreatitis so I don’t land in hospital. That’s all folks.....thanks for your prayers.

Hi everyone.
I went to my local GI on Friday for follow up appt before my Boston appts. Dr Feinberg has been taking orders from Dr Banks in Boston, so he said that Dr Banks wants me on the prednisone again but at a higher dose. Well the lower dose in December made me a mad women with lots of energy, very jittery, no patience, no sleep, and an appetite that I believe Made me eat too many solids and landed me in hospital again. And I am not my usual sweet self as some of my co-workers can attest to, but actually found it humorous since it would be short term. So just imagine me on a higher dose-totally unfunctionable-good thing still out of work so nobody has to deal with me-ha!ha! Well, the reason I have to be on this at all is b/c when I meet w/the surgeon on Wednesday; he may require that I be on it again to reduce the inflamed pancreas. It isn’t more risky to do the surgery on the enlarged, inflamed pancreas, so I hope this prednisone will reduce it, since it didn’t in December. Lots of love and sorry if too much info. Will get back to all sometime at end of week.

Sue’s update as follows:
Hi everyone. Well, I promised an update as soon as I received my biopsy results. Results were highly unexpected -the biopsy was done to diagnose if auto-immune pancreas. What the pathologist found was that I have chronic pancreatitis, not acute. (Better to have acute )and I have cancerous tumors that could not be seen on imaging. I will need surgery to remove part of pancreas. I thought that once you have cancer of pancreas that’s it, but according to the Boston dr, part of pancreas can be removed and people survive. Dr said it was caught early enough, b/c this was difficult case to diagnose, but he’s glad that he had biopsy done or we would never know until it was too late . So I will need prayers again and thank you so much for the prayers to give me a diagnosis, be it good or bad, I finally know.
