Hi Our Name is Khe and Zoë,
Shortly after moving to Florida I became homeless in the height of the pandemic.Once I became pregnant with Zoë I was thankful to be accepted into Broward partnership central shelter 4 weeks from my due date I was advised I would not be able to bring my baby back to the shelter or DCF would remove my child from me ( it had just happened a few weeks prior to another expectant mother who was also residing at the shelter) my daughter’s paternal grandmother allowed us to stay with her as long as she could until the HOA in her 55+ community threatened her with eviction by this time in March I had received my tax refund and began insistently searching for a home for my daughter and I. As the time for us to leave had come and gone. I was beyond desperate for a place to live with my daughter and would literally take anything habitable at this point that’s when I received the first reply of vacancy. I immediately hopped on what I thought was a God Send opportunity. Turns out the polar opposite after collecting $75 application fee via Zelle once I was “ approved”I had to secure the place by sending him $1049 the security deposit I was skeptical but again very desperate but then when he began texting requesting the first month also. That’s when my stomach dropped at that point I knew I had been scammed I filed a dispute with bank and Zelle also a police report with Sunrise Fl Police Department.
Anything will help All would be appreciated
-Khe & Zoë
