On October 18 2018, I was waken up to a knock on the door from two of my daughters friends. I received the worst news any parent would like to hear. I was told my daughter had been involved in a car accident and it was pretty serious. Upon arrival at the hospital doctors filled me in on my daughters condition. A drunk driver slammed into the passenger side where cristina was seated. She had a collapsed lung, her ribs were broken and bleeding in the brain. Because of the severity of her injuries Cristina was unable to breathe on her own and therefore needed assistance from a breathing machine. She was then put in a medically induced coma and remained that way for a week. Over the next month her condition worsened and we were in and out of the hospital. As a result of her condition I had to leave my job to care for her and to make matters worse her insurance is only covering for a partial percent of her hospital stay and medication. Today November 11th Cristina has been once again admitted into the hospital. She was struggling to breathe and her oxygen levels were dangerously low. Doctors felt the best option for her was to perform a tracheotomy. I am asking for help because I cannot work because there is no one to care for my daughter. I cannot afford the other partial percent of the medical bills myself I am a single mother of three and this past month has been hard on me not being able to work. It’s been very difficult with trying to make ends meet and also caring for Cristina’s well being. I’ve had to come out of pocket to buy the medication that her insurance doesn’t cover and also pay for her transportation back and for from the hospital. Money has run low and this is my cry for help anything that you can give is a big help. Thank you all and God bless you!!
