Replacement Of Lees Camera Equipment
Some of you may know Lee Hancock as an incredible automotive photographer in the local car scene in Saskatchewan. He is also the founder and owner of Nerdbot Photography in Regina, Saskatchewan, as well as shooting for Top-Tier Imports.
In recent events, Lee went on a trip to Vancouver to take photos at the "Driven Vancouver" car meet. After taking thousands of pictures at the car meet he went out with a friend. He left his camera gear locked in his friends car. About an hour after leaving the car, the two came outside to find that all of Lee's camera equipment had been stolen.
The items stolen were:
Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM
Canon 35mm f/2.0
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS
Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM ii
Canon 430EXiii-RT
T6i body
52mm Hoya CP
58mm Hoya CP
Sandisk 90mb/sec 16gb
2x Sandisk 80mb/sec 16gb
Assorted cleaning supplies
LowerPro camera backpack
Lee values this equipment at over $3500.
Luckily insurance covers most of the cost, but he will still have to pay out of pocket for the remaining difference which ends up being around $1000. I have the goal set to $1500 to cover miscellaneous processing fees through GoFundMe
As a fellow photographer, I can understand the stress Lee is going through. Equipment can be replaced, but no amount of money can replace the photos that were on the stolen SD cards.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Let's get Lee's Camera equipment back!
