Hello all! I am raising money for my expenses for my Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) AND moving to Houston to start the program in August.
In the past, I have created three GoFundMe fundraisers so far to raise funds for my educational journey in some way (Summer School, Studying Abroad in China, Presenting Research in Thailand, and now, pursuing a MSW at University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work). Although I am always hesitant when asking for funds, I hope this history shows a track record that I only raise funds for credible reasons and that I exhausted all other options and utilize this platform as a last resort. I applied for several significant scholarships that amount around $10,000 but I was not selected and I also applied for several part time jobs, however, due to the pandemic, many positions are on a hiring freeze. I also understand that we are in dire economic times during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that also contributed to my hesitation. If you can give, ANY AMOUNT HELPS. If not, consider sharing with your network please. At the very least, your prayers are solicited.
I graduated Cum Laud from my undergraduate program in Social Work and I also was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, an experience that prepared me for PhD studies. The following expenses are only for the MSW portion of my MSW/PhD program. The PhD program will be funded through tuition waivers and other aid.
