Lonnie's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
Lonnie was recently in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, March 28, while on his way home from work. The collision occurred on I-35 after he hit the back end of a truck tailgate while trying to come to a complete stop after the truck swerved in and out of the lane to avoid hitting another vehicle. He was rushed to Med City Denton and underwent surgery. He currently has pins and screws in his arm, along with an external fixation on his leg.
When he first arrived to the hospital his leg was set incorrectly, causing excruciating pain until it was corrected hours later. Despite his strong spirit, the pain remains intense, especially when attempting to move. He is trying his best to walk but he cannot use his left arm or left leg for any stability.
Lonnie is currently waiting the O.K. to be discharged and go home, where he will complete at home rehabilitation and return to see his ortho on April 10th to schedule his second surgery on his leg and remove the external fixation. Even after post op, they are still expecting Lonnie to be in rehab for 3-6 months or possibly longer to handle the strain of his shattered foot and ankle.
Lonnie and his wife, Dawn, are looking at bills from the Ambulance, ER, surgeries, and rehab so every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards alleviating the financial strain they are facing. Whether it's covering medical expenses, aiding with rehabilitation costs, or providing much-needed support during this challenging time, your help is truly appreciated.
Let's rally together and support Lonnie and Dawn as they navigate this difficult chapter. Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful impact on their path to recovery. Thank you for considering donating and sharing this fundraiser with others who may be able to help.
