Hi my name is Em and I am very embarrassed to be doing this. I am 53, disabled and am fundraising for a better mobility scooter. My current one is broke and will cost more in repairs than the actual cost itself.
I became disabled a year ago, being diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, osteoarthritis and have a tumour (malignant) on my spine. All this means, I cannot walk very far without falling or losing my balance. I am in constant pain. I am a full time carer for my husband who has Alzheimer’s. I gave up work as an Ofsted Inspector to become his carer
However the upgrade I really need costs £3500. They aren't cheap, hence my fundraising request. It's worth a try I guess. Thank you I need a more robust and reliable scooter so I can keep my independence, one that does more miles and one that suits my needs. For now I am housebound unless in someone’s car.
Please if you can help, I would be so very grateful. Thank you so very much. We rely on benefits, the cost of living and falling fowl to an online scam means we just cannot afford to buy a scooter I really need.
