If you know Sarah, you know she is the definition of a fighter. For those who don't know her journey, Sarah has already stared down the impossible—and won. Fifteen years ago, she entered remission after heroically defeating Stage 4 Lymphoma—not once, but twice.
For nearly two decades, she has lived her life to the fullest, a testament to her strength and spirit. However, Sarah is now facing a new, incredibly difficult mountain to climb.
Recently, Sarah received the devastating diagnosis of Merkel Cell Carcinoma. This is an extremely rare and aggressive form of skin cancer that has manifested as a tumor in her nose. Because of its rarity and the location of the tumor, the road ahead is complex and physically demanding.
Sarah’s medical team has moved quickly to create an aggressive plan of attack. Following her major surgery on January 21st, she will begin an intensive, multi-month course of specialized therapy and undergo several reconstructive procedures to ensure the best possible outcome. Because of the rare and aggressive nature of this cancer, Sarah faces a full year of recovery. During this time, she will be unable to work as she focuses all her strength on healing and reclaiming her health.
After 17 years of health, this news was a shock, but we know Sarah’s track record. She is a survivor through and through. Our goal is to take the financial "weight" off her shoulders so she can put 100% of her energy into her surgery on January 21st and the treatments that follow.
Whether it’s a donation, a share of this page, or a prayer for her surgical team, every bit of support matters more than words can say.
Thank you for standing with Sarah.
