Ironman for Peter (MDS Foundation)

Hi - My father passed away on September 9th due to complications from myelodysplastic syndrome. On December 5th, I will be participating in my first half-Ironman on December 5th in Indian Wells/La Quinta. I will be swimming, biking and running in my father's honor and raising money for the MDS Foundation. My Dad not only taught me how to bike but would make me get up at 6am with him and bike 20+ miles many mornings in Cape Cod. He also taught me to swim and even pushed me to teach swimming on the beach for a few summers in Cape Cod. Running may have been the only one where I had a leg up on him. I will be honest and say a month ago, I didn't know if I had the energy mentally or physically to start training for this. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this is exactly what he would of wanted me to do and finishing this race in his honor with a donation to the MDS foundation is exactly how I want to do this.

See you all at the finish line, Peter will be there in spirit waiting for me with a beer, some BBQ and a smile.
