Michael Hreha, 64, of North Huntingdon was recently diagnosed with stage 4 larnyx cancer, and the news sent shock waves through his family. Through this fund, we would like to support the Hreha family financially so that they can focus on getting him the treatment he needs without worrying about their living expenses. It’s hard enough to battle cancer, let alone worry about how you will pay your mortgage.


Michael’s cancer progressed quickly, and he has a tough battle ahead. He currently has a tracheostomy and doctors just put him on a feeding tube in hopes that he gains some strength before surgery. (He has been in so much pain that he could not even consume liquids.) His vocal cords have been permanently damaged, and he will likely never be able to speak the same again.


His wife, Barb Hreha, recently took a severance package from her job of 20 years. Michael was employed at an auto body shop, which had no medical benefits, and he was the primary income earner for their family. As you can imagine, the loss of income and medical coverage has devastated the family.


The goal for this fund is to raise enough money to help pay for 6 months of bills while Michael is going through treatment. $10,362 would cover mortgage, car payment and utility bills. We want to make sure that Michael, Barb and their kids know that they have a support team as they fight through the difficult days ahead.
