Please help save Ash, our 6 month old Maine coon

3 months ago we brought our little Ash into our lives, he has stolen the hearts of or 3 kids and ourselves. He's just the snuggliest and most affectionate little guy.

Recently he has become extremely ill, lathargic, dehydrated, not eating, slowed breathing. We took him to the vet who then told me he needed to have iv fluids or he would die. He has been sedated on iv fluids and antibiotics for a few days now. The vet has ran multiple tests that haven't really led us to any answers. There is fluid in his lungs (which he needs the biopsy for).

So far we have paid around 1500 dollars and really can't afford to spend more.

The vet is pushing to have more tests done to hopefully find a diagnosis which will be 1k+ just for the biopsy and ultrasound.

At this point our only option is to do the tests (try to diagnose) or have him put down.

Honestly the thought of putting him down feels like ripping a hole in my heart.

I can't even imagine how to tell my 12 and 8 year old daughters.

I never thought I would be making a gofund me but I'm desperate at this point.

There is absolutely no way we can spend another 1k+ right now.

Please help us save baby Ash, if you can spare anything consider donating. I feel so helpless and really don't know where else to turn.
