Steve needs our help.

My cousin Steve really needs our help.
My cousin is a very proud man and would never ask for help himself. Therefore, I will ask for him. Three years ago, Steve ran into some very bad luck and was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a rare disease in which there is build-up of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain. After being diagnosed with this disease, Steve had to undergo brain surgery in order to drain the fluid from his brain. The surgery consisted of implanting a shunt inside Steve’s head, which would drain the excess fluid from his brain. Needless to say, Steve underwent many life changes once this occurred. He was no longer able to work full time as a dentist and eventually had to sell his practice after 34 years.
Recently, Steve started working a couple of days a week for another dentist. However, with Covid-19, it was tough getting patients into the office and business slowed dramatically.
Two weeks ago early one morning, his daughter, Mirella, found Steve unresponsive, having seizers in his bedroom. In obvious worry, she yelled for her brother Gianni who called 911, and Steve was transported to Kaiser ICU. While at the ER, doctors realized that the shunt that was implanted 3 years prior had failed. He was then transported to the Kaiser brain center in Redwood City where he underwent an emergency brain surgery to replace the failing shunt. We all prayed that this new shunt would work. Unfortunately, it failed as well. Doctors had to place an emergency tube in his brain in order to drain the excess fluid.
Steve has been in the ICU for thirteen days so far and has just recently woken up. He lately also had a successful shunt surgery but doctors have now found a blood clot in his leg. Hopefully once the blood clot is under control, he will be able to be transported to the Kaiser rehabilitation center in Vallejo where he will have to stay for approximately 2 weeks.
It is unclear whether Steve will be able to return to work as a dentist in order to provide for his two children, Gianni (17) and Mirella (14.)
I am asking all Steve’s friends and relatives to help him out in this time of need.
Thank you
Angelo
