Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, I need to have my gallbladder removed, but my insurance won’t cover the procedure until February. I had hoped to manage things until then by following a very strict diet, but there’s a real risk of complications before that—complications that could send me seriously ill to the emergency room. The uncertainty has been causing me a lot of anxiety, and I would feel much safer having the surgery done sooner rather than later.
I’ve been advised to start a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of the surgery, as I simply don’t have the funds on my own. I’ve spent time researching and have found a hospital and doctor that are significantly more affordable than other options. The total cost comes to around $2,500 USD, which is about half of another quote I received. Since this is a routine procedure, I feel confident that this is a safe and responsible choice.
Asking for help like this is very difficult for me. I’ve always been able to put my pride aside when it comes to the animals I rescue, but doing so for myself feels much harder and leaves me feeling exposed. Still, I know I can’t face this alone. I’m hoping to take care of this as soon as possible, before it becomes an emergency, and I’m deeply grateful for any support, understanding, or kindness given.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this, for sharing if you’re able, and for any support, kindness, or encouragement you can offer. It truly means more to me than I can put into words.
With love,
Amanda
