Logan's FSU Music Theatre Intensive
Ever since I was little I've wanted to be a performer. I was involved with a number of musicals at my local church and fell in love with the art form. However it was only ever a hobby, never something I considered pursuing. That is, until my freshmen year at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. I was a Vocal Major at the time and I had gone to see the Theatre Departments production of Ragtime. I was so blown away by the talent and the emotions that these artists could make an audience member feel. I knew from that day forward that I wanted to go to college and get my BFA in Musical Theatre. Since then I have switched majors from Vocal to Musical Theatre and have been growing as a performer every day.
I have been blessed with countless opportunities these past two years. Wonderful mentors have taught me more about the art form than I could ever have imagined possible and they have shown me a very new and exciting opportunity: Summer Intensives.
Each summer rising juniors and seniors are given the chance to audition for several of the top BFA Musical Theatre programs in the nation. Each school is different, some of these intensives last 6 weeks others only last 2. However in each program, the student is given the opportunity to train with the faculty who teach at the university and work with them one on one. At the end of the intensive, there is a big Caberet in which the students get to showcase the work that they have done over the week. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone who dreams to make it to Broadway one day.
I am honored to say that I have been accepted into Florida State University's Three-Week Summer Musical Theatre Intensive! I am thrilled to have the chance to work with the faculty and learn from current students of the program.
Unfortunately, it is rather expensive and because of timing I cant cover the cost so I am asking for all the help I can get!
Any donation would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
