Family house fire

My name is Heather Weeks. This fundraiser is for my Mom, brother, and step-dad.

 

2:00am on the night of June 2nd my family’s house caught fire. Electrical fire.

 

A lot of people know and love my Mom, Kathy Huizar, my step dad Greg Huizar, and my brother Dwayne weeks.

 

The house likely isn’t going to be rebuildable. They do have insurance but none of their personal belongings are going to be covered.

Red cross is helping with temporary housing costs.

 

They lost everything. Clothes, furniture, memories. Their home, that they have build and made beautiful over the years.

My moms Dream was to always have her farm house , she got it. And now it went up in flames.

 

For those who don’t know them, my mother is the most kind hearted person you could ever meet. I don’t just say that because she’s my mom. No matter how bad she has struggled she’s always jumping to help someone even if she can’t afford it.

My step dad is a retired Detroit police officer, due to bankruptcy of Detroit his pension got cut in half years ago.

 

My mom is a waitress, that many know and love. I don’t know a single person that can say a bad thing about my mom.

 

She has 4 dogs and a cat. I have 2 of the dogs and her cat with me, and another friend is watching the other 2. They will also need food and supplies.

 

My family is not one to ask for handouts. Right now, they could really use some help.

 

I set the goal for 5,000 hoping we can at least get them most of the things they will need these next few months to get by and hopefully help with some of the bills, that’s the last thing they need to be worried about right now.

 

Everyone is safe, and everyone is alive. Including all animals.
