Update as of Aug 21: When 49-year-old military veteran Eric Palmer unexpectedly passed away on June 15th, his military retirement pay came to a halt. His family – his wife and 4 children – are still waiting to learn Eric's cause of death.
Until his wife receives Eric's certificate of death, she cannot start the long process of filing for survivor benefits, which is why we have updated this campaign's goal to $20k. Eric's family needs our help TODAY to bridge this financial gap.

July 7: When 49-year-old military veteran Eric Palmer unexpectedly passed away on June 15th, his military retirement pay came to a halt.
Eric served in the Army for over 20 years and deployed 4 times. Eric’s wife and 4 children need our support today to bridge the financial gap between his passing and his family filing for and receiving their earned survivor benefits.
According to military.com, it could take 45-60 days for Eric’s family to receive their survivor benefits. If we also factor in potential administrative and COVID delays, it’s quite possible that this timeline will exceed 60 days.
Meeting our $15k goal will help Eric’s family to navigate the challenging months ahead without the additional stress of financial setbacks, from routine bills to unexpected expenses. Donations received in excess of the family’s needs will be donated in Eric’s name to a cause chosen by his family.
Eric and his family have dedicated their lives to service. Let’s do our best to now serve them during this unimaginable time.

We lost a great Husband, Father, and Soldier.
Eric Donald Palmer was unexpectedly sent to heaven on June 15th at the young age of 49. He leaves behind his wife and 4 children, his parents and in-laws, his half brother and stepsisters, and a loving extended family.
Outside of a positive COVID test and knowing that Eric was in his parked tractor-trailer in Arizona, we are still waiting to learn more as to what happened.
Eric served in the Army for over 20 years, having recently retired in the rank of sergeant first class. He distinguished himself throughout his career by earning his Combat Infantryman Badge and 2 Bronze Stars along with several other awards and medals during 4 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. His proudest achievement was the love and respect of the young Soldiers he helped shape in his roles as platoon sergeant, drill instructor, and sergeant first class.
Until his wife receives Eric's certificate of death, she cannot start the long process of filing for survivor benefits, which is why we have updated this campaign's goal to $20k. Eric's family needs our help TODAY to bridge this financial gap.
