Hi, my name is Vanessa, I’m reaching out for help with my beloved dog, Rocky. Rocky became part of our family as an emotional support dog for my only son, Lucas, and he’s been a source of comfort and love ever since.

Two weeks ago, Rocky suddenly couldn’t pee, and we had to rush him to the emergency vet. After an ultrasound, we were heartbroken to learn that Rocky has bladder stones obstructing his urethra, which may require surgery. Although they were able to flush the stones back into his bladder for the time being, the vet warned us that this was only a temporary fix.

His regular veterinarian recommended a special diet to dissolve the stones, hoping to avoid surgery. However, just a week later, Rocky began presenting blood in his urine, and shortly after, he was unable to pee again, requiring another emergency procedure. This time, the vet strongly advised that we move forward with surgery, as each obstruction could seriously harm him.

Unfortunately, as a single mother, the medical bills have skyrocketed beyond what I can manage. Rocky doesn’t have pet insurance because I was in the process of changing jobs and had to cut back on expenses. Now, we are facing the reality of needing surgery to remove the stones and give Rocky the best chance at a healthy life. He will also need to be on a special diet for the rest of his life to prevent this from happening again.
