Support for Elma's Final Journey
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Leonelyn Anova, and I’m reaching out for help to support my family during one of the most difficult times in our lives. My mom, Elma, was an incredible woman who fought bravely through many challenges. When I was just one year old, my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer. Although she lost her eyesight, she defied the odds and survived. For 28 years, she remained strong, raising my brother and me with love, faith, determination, always finding a way to keep going, despite her disability.
My mom was truly a miracle. Despite being blind, she ran a small sari-sari store, took care of me and my brother, and did everything she could to make sure we were supported while my dad worked abroad.
She gave me baths, did my hair, taught me life lessons, and ensured I always felt loved and cared for. Through it all, she managed to be the heart and soul of our family.
In December of last year (2024), our world was shattered when my mom was diagnosed with end-stage glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The doctors told us there was nothing more they could do and said that she only has a few months to live. We brought her home to the Philippines so she could spend her final days surrounded by her loved ones, giving her the best care and comfort we could provide.
Sadly, my mom passed away on March 31, 2025. It is an overwhelming loss for our family. We are heartbroken, but we are also thankful for the time we had with her, the love she gave us, and the strength she showed every day.
In the final months of my mom’s life, we were faced with mounting medical expenses, daily care needs, and other financial burdens. We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden during this time of grief and loss. Your donations will help us pay for funeral expenses and assist with any other costs related to my mom’s passing.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will be a tremendous help. Your support will relieve some of the financial strain on our family, allowing us to focus on grieving and healing. We are incredibly grateful for any assistance you can offer—whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or sending prayers and well wishes.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and for any support you can provide. My mom was a fighter her whole life, and with your help, we can honor her memory and ensure that her final journey is respected. We are so grateful for every donation and every prayer sent our way.
With gratitude,
Leonelyn Anova and Family
