Brenda Dumas has had a rough nine months and could really use some help from her family, friends, and community.

She totaled her car last fall when she hit a deer and has been left with a payment for a vehicle she can no longer drive and no vehicle as she can't afford two car payments. Shortly afterwards, she ended up in the hospital with an infected kidney stone causing a urinary tract infection (UTI) which caused her to go septic. This led to her being unconscious for five days and having to have surgery to remove the infected kidney stone. Her doctor told her he is surprised that she lived through all of this. After a month in Sparrow Hospital she got to finally go home. Three weeks after being home, her son found her unconscious on the living room floor and she was rushed to the hospital in Grand Rapids where they determined the UTI was back. She spent another week in the hospital and then was transferred to SKLD in Ionia where she spent another month in recovery.

This leads us to where she needs help. While in the hospitals and the nursing home, her electricity got shut off and her water pipes froze and burst. She also is not sure what is wrong with it yet, but her geothermal furnace is not working and she cannot afford to have someone out to look at it. She is currently blessed to have her son's friend allowing her to stay with them, but she really wants to just go home and can't until she can get things fixed. Being retired, her social security doesn't get her very far and she hasn't been able to work her side job due to her health.

She has had to rehome all of her animals and for anyone that knows Brenda, this was hard for her as she has always loved all of her animals, but most especially her rabbits.

Please share this event and help Brenda any way you can as she really does just want to go home.
