Ted Blanchard's Support Fund

On the evening of May 25th, 2017, while riding his motorcycle down a mountain just north of Boulder, Utah with his brother, A.J. Blanchard, and his cousin, Martin Blanchard, Ted Blanchard was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. As Ted, A.J. and Martin neared Boulder, Ted saw a deer standing on the grass next to the road and waved a warning to AJ and Martin to slow down. The deer first looked to be heading back into the woods next to the road as Ted approached but Ted moved to the center of the road as a precaution. But at the last second, the deer darted onto the road and into Ted’s path. Because the deer moved so quickly and so unexpectedly, Ted was unable to avoid hitting the deer, lost control of his Harley, and was thrown from his motorcycle. His quick thinking and warning to AJ and Martin certainly prevented them from being injured but he sustained a serious brain injury in the accident. Ted received life-saving medical attention at the scene by a nurse and emergency trauma surgeon who happened upon the accident, but had to be transported by a LifeFlight helicopter to Dixie Regional Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center over four hours away in St. George, Utah. Ted remains in the ICU at Dixie Regional Medical Center with his wife, Theresa, and his two children, Emily and Josh at his side. So many family, friends and even strangers are praying for Ted’s recovery. However, because of the challenges Ted and his family are facing now and will face in the future, your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
