Penny Figary's Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Adam, Penny's second oldest of three children. Penny was recently diagnosed with advanced stages of Lung and Liver cancer, with less than a month to live if she didn't receive chemotherapy treatment immediately. Even with treatment, the doctors have said the cancer is aggressive and time is something they cannot promise. This was back in June when we all first recieved this unsettling and grim news. With that being said, my mom has never stopped fighting for herself, or more importantly in her eyes, others. My mom has always been one of the strongest people I have ever known, surviving multiple abusive relationships throughout the years, primarily being a single mother, working multiple jobs and long hours, all while successfully raising 3 children, whom I am fortunate enough to call myself one of those 3. She has always put other people ahead of herself, especially over the past decade or so where she has worked as a CNA, home health nurse, hospice nurse and a medical assistant. Using her natural gifts of caring and loving, she has helped dozens of people in their last days live as comfortably as possible. Her diagnosis and extensive treatment hasn't stopped her from being the loving and caring person she truly is. In my mom's spare time she has been crafting blankets for the cancer treatment center she goes to every 3 weeks. She has donated about a dozen so far, and plans to continue as long as she can for she now knows first hand it can be quite cold whilst recieving your treatment. As much as our spirits are high and our hopes are pushing for my mom to recover from this, just like she has recovered from the many hardships she has faced throughout her life. Penny will be 56 years old next month on September 22nd, and she has a lot to live for, including being a grandmother for all of her children in the future. With that being said, my mom's income was about half of her household's. Bills are growing and so are the immense number of co-pays that seem never-ending, on top of traveling the 150 miles round trip for treatment and doctors visits every week. We understand that we are far from the only people enduring these struggles and don't want to sound desperate. My mom should be focusing on staying healthy, with a positive mindset and hoping for recovery. These bills and growing expenses are starting to overwhelm us all, and most of all her. Her doctors have put her out of work for at least a year, which has saddened her greatly. We want her to be happy and optimistic of her future, because she is a beautiful and wonderful person, and deserves nothing less than the world in our eyes. Every bit of the generous donations we hope to receive will go towards medical expenses and household bills that our family is currently struggling with. Penny is a shining beacon of joy for so many and she has a lot of people cheering for her, but that number can always grow. Please help me and my family with Penny's ever-growing expenses. Every bit helps and is greatly appreciated by all of us. Help Penny continue to be a survivor.
