Jan's Care Fund

Jan was diagnosed early May with Stage 4 Bile Duct cancer, this is terminal and she has declined further treatments and wants to do this her way. Not surprising to those of us close to her, she’s been marching her to own drum since day one. I am happy to support her wishes and will walk thru this with her hand and hand just as we have done everything else since the day we laid eyes on each other. I couldn’t be more proud of my Mom, I literally hit the jackpot the day I chose her. I may physically be her only child but all of you are her children too. I highly doubt that there is person reading this that hasn’t been forever changed by her wisdom, spiritual guidance, generosity, teachings or just her hand. Mom has spent her entire life with a purpose to help, learn, guide, heal and to love. My god does she love. She loves everyone with such gentle ferocity. Now is our time to give back to her a tiny dose of what she has given us.We will over the next few days be starting to work with her Doctors and Hospice to make this as comfortable as possible for her. With that said, unfortunately Mom only has Medicare to help with the costs, I will be digging into it more but the medical bills, hospice care and prescriptions are starting to add up. Any help big or small is beyond appreciated. I will also be taking a leave of absence of work effective immediately as I will be by her side every minute as she has been by mine and supported me for 40 years, this will keep my job open for me but I will not be paid. With a family of six and a new house financially this is going to be a struggle. I have so much more to say and could write about her for days but I’ll save that for another time. I’m not sure how to exist without her but I know I will, I was raised by the strongest most intelligent person I’ve ever met and will continue to carry on as she would want with every bit of wisdom and magic she has bestowed on to me.
