Lost Our Home Due To A Fire

My name is Francisca Lopez and February 10th will be a day I'll never forget. That day was the day my life got turned upside down. I was woken up to my mom screaming. I run out of my room with my husband. At first we didn't know what was happening, because the power was out. I went to the kitchen and hit a wall of heat it finally hits me my house is on fire! Then it was black the smoke that was suffocating. I know if i didn't get to the front door we were all going to die. Me and my husband panicked to get the door open but were having difficulty. Thank goodness a passerby helped pull me out because I was passing out. They got my husband out and my mother out last. My 4 cats were still in there. I was taken to the hospital. I learned that my mom and husband would be transported to San Francisco and they needed tubes to breath. I was alone in the hospital with no phone no updates. The nurse let me use her phone to message my family and notify everyone on my husbands side. Thanks to that nurse. The fire investigators interviewed me and that's when I found out 2 of my cat perished 1 was missing and 1 survived, my mom's cat Baby who was blind (my grandmother has him and is taking care of him). After days of not knowing my husbands or mothers condition. My husband improved and eventually visited me in the hospital. After spending nearly a week in the hospital I got a call from my cousin that my mom had no brain activity. I made the hard decision to remove life support (her wishes) I couldn't be with her in her final moment because i was still on oxygen in the hospital and couldn't leave. My 2 cousins were able to be with her to the end. I was grieving in a hospital all alone (at first) the flood of love that came after from family and friends helped me improve so i could be discharged. I found out the house was boarded up and people had gone in to loot. Most of everything was lost. I'm Francisca and I lost my home, all my belongings, pets, and Mother who was dearly loved. Me and my family are putting together a burial for my mom (her wishes) she had nothing setup. Were pulling what we can from everyone we know. Me and my husband are in need of new clothes and a home.
