Hello, My name is Amanda Guidry and I’m married to Matthew Guidry. We have 4 beautiful children and trying to get passed this nightmare we’re living. We are from south Louisiana from a little bayou called Dularge. We thought our nightmare was over after we lost our home to hurricane Ida but then we were blessed with purchasing our new home. We thought everything was finally turning around for us. May 2, 2022 my husband went to the er because he was having trouble breathing and chest pains. After multiple test were ran, they were shocked to tell us that he had a mass that was 19 cm across his chest. He was admitted and they performed a biopsy to later find it that it was cancer. He was diagnosed with stage IV Thymic Carcinoma. It is a very rare and aggressive cancer. Since May of this year he has went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy to only learn that it spread to his lungs, lymph nodes, and brain. On Oct 14 he underwent major brain surgery to have the tumor removed and is now doing radiation on his brain. Since his surgery, he has now started having grand mal seizures. They have increased his seizure medication and also started him on new treatment which is immunotherapy and chemo pills everyday. With everything going on he can’t be left by himself so I am his caregiver as well. I take care of him and bring him to all his appointments. He is unable to work and his disability doesn’t cover not even half of our bills. We are living on prayers right now and our finances have also took a toll on his mental stability. He is so stressed and blaming himself. We are trying to raise our sweet kids and get through this nightmare in hopes we will have some good outlook and a testimony at the end of everything we’ve endured but especially him. He is the most loving, caring, and giving person I ever met. I pray some of our financial burden can be taken off his shoulders so he can just focus on getting well. With that being said any donation isn’t to big or to small. Thanks everyone for the love and support. I pray one day it’ll be our turn to pay it forward❤️ you can also follow our journey on Facebook Amanda Matt Guidry and our Venmo is @SmilesForLyfe
