A Family in Need: Help Us Recover from a House Fire

On January 3, 2025, a devastating fire destroyed our home, leaving our family of five with nothing but the clothes on our backs. The tragedy began when my sister's husband, who had stayed behind to install the remote start on my mom’s truck, went into the kitchen to make coffee. Suddenly, he started smelling something burning, and when he checked, he found the garage already on fire. He immediately called the fire department, who arrived quickly and managed to control the flames. However, the damage was already extensive: the electrical wiring, ducts, and the electrical system were completely destroyed, and the fire even reached the attic.

During the inspection, the fire department declared the house a total loss, and it will need to be dismantled and rebuilt from scratch.

This tragedy has affected every member of our family, including my 8-year-old niece, who has lost not only her home but also her most cherished belongings and valuable memories. In the blink of an eye, our entire world changed. Now, as we begin to rebuild our lives, we are in desperate need of your help.

El 3 de enero de 2025, un devastador incendio destruyó nuestra casa, dejándonos a una familia de cinco con nada más que la ropa que llevábamos puesta. Esta tragedia comenzó cuando el esposo de mi hermana, quien había quedado en casa para instalar el encendido remoto en la camioneta de mi mamá, entró a la cocina a hacer café. De repente, comenzó a oler a quemado y al revisar, vio que el garaje ya estaba en llamas. Inmediatamente llamó a los bomberos, quienes llegaron rápidamente y lograron controlar el fuego. Sin embargo, el daño ya estaba hecho: los cables eléctricos, ductos y el sistema eléctrico se quemaron, alcanzando hasta el ático de la casa.

Durante la inspección, los bomberos declararon pérdida total y la casa debe desmantelarse para ser reconstruida desde cero.

Esta tragedia ha afectado a cada miembro de nuestra familia, incluida mi sobrina de 8 años, quien ha perdido no solo su hogar, sino también sus pertenencias más queridas y recuerdos valiosos. En un abrir y cerrar de ojos, nuestro mundo dio un giro inesperado. Ahora, mientras comenzamos a reconstruir nuestras vidas, necesitamos de su ayuda.
