Wheelchair Handball World Championships

I started playing wheelchair basketball when I was 14. A few weeks ago I ran into a friend of mine who explained to me that he was putting together a team to play in the Wheelchair Handball World Championships in September in Brazil. He asked if I could fill in the final spot on the team.
The competition runs from the 13th-29th September, in both Curitiba & Itajaí. There are six teams competing: Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay & Venezuela. This is a huge opportunity for everyone involved, getting a once-off chance to represent Australia & the chance to possibly win a medal.
Wheelchair handball isn't a very big sport in Australia and isn't yet part of the Paralympics, meaning the team has no choice but to fund the trip ourselves. I've set up this page to try & make the trip as cheap & easy for everyone involved, not just myself.
There are nine players on the team and we each need to come up with our own money for everything except accommodation. Flights alone are almost $3,000 each.
We also need to hire a separate courier plane to transfer all of the wheelchairs across to Brazil, as the weight of those alone is half of what's allowed on a normal airplane, this is another $6,000. You can see why we need the support.
