Double lung transplant medical cost

Jim and Julie Fleming were originally from Winnipegosis and now reside in Dauphin Manitoba. Jim dedicated 25 years as a correctional officer and believed in helping others rehabilitate themselves. Julie his wife stayed at home and raised a beautiful family of 4 children. Both of them are now enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Julie had COPD for the last few years and was on the waiting list for a double lung transplant for the past two years. She got the call end of November that a match was found. This procedure took place two provinces over at the University of Alberta hospital. As to be expected with a surgery of this magnitude there are complications and Julie will be spending the next 4-5 weeks at the U of A hospital and then being transferred to Winnipeg where they will have to reside 6 months or more depending. As mentioned above Jim and Julie's home is Dauphin Manitoba and will have to pay for hotels and meals and all other expenses surrounding the cost of daily living and over and above. Gas and transport to hospitals and appointments around the city. At the same time upkeep and bills at their residence in Dauphin still need to be taken care of.
