Support a Mother and Her Kids Facing Eviction

Over the last three years, my friend has been dealing with manipulation, coercive control, financial abuse and now post separation and litigation abuse. Despite working for their entire marriage, supporting his career, and trying her hardest to keep their family together despite ongoing struggles including an affair, addiction, verbal abuse, and pathological lying that ultimately cost them their entire retirement and savings, and continuously impacted the stability and safety of the family, her now ex husband has painted a story of his own creation through a calculated attack based on false accusations and a high paid attorney who has succeeded in controlling the narrative of the court and forced my friend into emotional, physical, and now financial duress.

She, and the kids, have been forced from their home and their belongings were thrown away, utilities were turned off by him while they were still living there, she has been followed by a pi, had a tracker put on her vehicle, been stalked and harassed, had her electronics monitored and recorded, and she has been doing this while being threatened and manipulated, and while trying to care for her kids who have special needs which have been made worse by the ongoing trauma from the situation including a lack of stability, loss of insurance (and therefore therapy) three times due to losing his job and then unexpectedly taking all of the money and refusing to pay the bills, and worst of all one child being denied medication that was prescribed despite violence, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Despite numerous providers agreeing medication is in the child’s best interest, due to the fathers refusal to consent, it has been stuck in litigation for over TWO YEARS while behaviors continue to worsen. Because of the ongoing legal battle, being forced from her home three times now because of various rulings (including cutting child support in half unexpectedly due to false information being reported on the child support worksheet) and the impact on her work from caring for her children including the numerous therapy appointments, and unpredictable schedule as the father, who lives out of state, continues to make last minute changes and decisions without her having the protection of an attorney herself.

This is only a small portion of what has happened, however, the reason I have put this together is because she is hoping to get relief from the court once her motions are heard, but is not able to get before the judge until at least august and is facing eviction if she cannot come up with $2,000 by this weekend. I am hoping to help her raise that amount, plus extra, if possible, to help towards legal consult. She is fortunate to have employment that is flexible with her situation, but it has taken time for her to get to this point and now she is struggling to close the gap from where she fell behind following the last move - as well as expenses stacking up that were supposed to be split or reimbursed and were not.
