My name is Nick Fletcher. I'm from Nashville and graduated from St. Andrew's-Sewanee School last spring. I'm hiking the AT while I take time to figure out what I want to do in my next step of life. The 2,180 miles of the AT is the perfect challenge and a great way for me to meet new people and see new things.
Unfortunately I underestimated the amount of money needed to complete my journey. It is said that a typical hiker needs $1-$2 dollars for each mile of the trail. Most of this pays for food while the rest goes to the price of hostels and miscellaneous equipment repair/replacement.
If I end up having any leftover money at the end of the trail it will be split between providing hikers with trail magic and funding other people who need a little help.
