My name is Mourad Chafik, and together with my brother Amin Chafik, we are Forgotten Paws.

This foundation was born from what we witnessed with our own eyes.

I live in Italy, and Amin lives in France, but every summer we travel to Morocco, especially to the High Atlas Mountains—regions of breathtaking beauty where countless animals suffer in silence. Stray dogs, cats, and working animals are often injured, sick, starving, or abandoned, with no access to medical care, food, or shelter.

We help because we can—and because we cannot look away.

Forgotten Paws is not a large organization. It is a hands-on, family-run foundation, built on compassion, responsibility, and direct action. We personally travel to the areas in need, respond on the ground, and make sure help reaches the animals who need it most.

To ensure complete transparency and trust, all donations are used only for animal care. Funds are managed through a dedicated account and are spent on medical treatments, emergency care, food, and basic shelter materials. Much of the medicine and equipment we use is sourced from the European Union and brought by us to Morocco to guarantee quality, safety, and effectiveness.

When we arrive, we don’t just observe—we act.

Through Forgotten Paws, we provide:

Emergency medical care for injured and sick animals

Food and clean water for starving animals

Basic shelters and protection from heat, cold, and danger

Medicines and treatments often unavailable in remote areas

Immediate emergency response, working closely with local residents and contacts

We collaborate with local helpers and communities, who alert us when animals are in critical condition. These partnerships allow us to respond quickly and save lives that would otherwise be lost due to lack of time or resources.

This mission is deeply personal to us. Every animal we help is not a statistic—it is a life, a soul, and a story that deserves compassion and dignity. Every donation becomes something real: food in a bowl, medicine in a syringe, or safety for an animal who had none.

In many places, animals are not protected by systems—so they depend on people.
