Robin's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
First, some context and why we’re here: let's rewind to over a year ago now. Robin visited the doctor due to some discomfort in her chest. Upon testing, the doctor discovered a few nodules in her lungs, and upon further testing, Robin and her family received some of the worst news a family could ever receive, "you have lung cancer". Initially, the cancer seemed manageable and the prognosis left the family cautiously optimistic; a few rounds of radiation would take care of it and all would be well. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, after the radiation and another round of tests, Robin received worse news, "your cancer has metastasized, stage IV - it's now in your liver, lymph nodes, and bones". That initial optimism is now gone, and although they are trying to keep a positive outlook, they are realistic, and subsequently, very concerned. Robin is a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend and all of those who care so much for her are so fearful of what's to come. Unfortunately, due to Robin's pre-existing health issues, there aren't many treatment options available.

Robin, George & their kids haven't exactly had it easy. Robin battled Lyme Disease 16 years ago that rendered her mentally and physically handicapped, they suffered through the loss of their eldest son and now Robin has to battle this awful disease. This is just scratching the surface of what this family has endured, but is also an indication of how strong they are. As many of you who will read this know, Robin & George's house was always a safe space. Any of the kids' friends could come by whenever and stay for as long as they needed a place to rest their head with no judgment and open arms. They were parents to more than just 5 children; they have taken so many under their wings over the years and now, it's our turn to show the same grace, love and kindness that Robin and George have for so many years.

This GoFundMe is set up to assist with all things Robin, whatever they may be. They don’t like to ask for help which is why I set this up. I don't know what exactly goes into funding cancer treatments but I know it'll take a village - this is where we all come in. Any donation, regardless of how small, is much appreciated. PLEASE, even if you cannot donate, leave Robin and George a fond memory or funny story you can share that will offer a temporary escape from this nightmare. Thank you all for reading.

While I know that Robin and George would never ask for help, I know they will appreciate the hell out of it!
