Samantha's College Graduation Trip
Donation protected
Samantha Millard-McEvoy, my beautiful, hardworking niece, is graduating with a major in Interior Design and an emphasis in Sustainable Design from University of West Virginia. She has worked her way through school, supporting herself with waitress jobs and maintaining a 3.9GPA. This last fall she faced the hardest experience a girl can face, she lost her father, Patrick McEvoy, at the young age of 39. She took a 3 week leave from school to see him before he passed and to be with family for his memorial. During the time she was home, she witnessed first hand the devistation left behind by The Valley Fire in her home town, just the month before. Samantha channeled her grief and loss into creating a design project for her home town called Rebuilding Community. Its a sustainable project to build a community center in Middletown. Her design won a regional award and was shown at a national design conference in Portland, Oregon. Her resiliance and heart amaze me. Samantha has always had a passion for elephants and her dream is to travel to Thailand and volunteer at an elephant sanctuary this summer after graduation. She has saved some money with her part-time job to cover a plane ticket but I would like to help her with travel costs. If you would like to help Samantha's dream come true, please donate to her fund.
