Cindy Trlak is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Kathleen Moran.
Upon returning from a yoga retreat for her 50th Birthday, our Aunt Kath was being proactive and went in for a routine colonoscopy. The results of the colonoscopy were devastating. On April 5, 2017, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She underwent surgery, a bowel resection, at the University of Chicago Hospital on April 24, 2017. Following surgery, they learned there was lymph node involvement, at which time she was staged at 3B. She will be receiving aggressive chemotherapy for the next six months. Throughout this battle, she has remained strong, courageous, and positive (also humorous, classy, sassy, beautiful, #sexysurvivor, joyful, full of good vibes, fearless, humble, and the list goes on and on…. That is as long as she has #AuntKathsTribe). As hard as it is to write this about our Aunt Kath, she has a long road ahead of her and will not be able to work like she always has. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting our Aunt Kath, you know she has a heart of gold and is always helping others. If you have not, then to understand some of her perseverance, strength, and how active she regularly is, she has completed multiple triathlons, races, and the Chicago marathon. She also LOVES hot yoga and the Daily Method. She will not be able to do a lot of the things she loves due to the side effects of chemotherapy, also affecting her ability to work as a court reporter. This will be the biggest challenge she has ever faced; therefore, we are organizing a GoFundMe page to help her with medical bills and other expenses while she is unable to work during her fight! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers - no donation is too small! Thank you! Love,#AuntKathsTribe
