I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. On October 12, I experienced something I never imagined I’d go through—a house fire that left me with almost nothing. Nearly a week later, I still haven’t been allowed to go in and see what, if anything, can be salvaged. All of my furniture is gone, and I won’t know for a while what may be saved from my clothes or other belongings.

To make things even harder, I didn’t have renter’s insurance at the time. That means everything lost is a complete loss—with no financial safety net to fall back on.

Several kind friends and family members encouraged me to set up this GoFundMe, and after sitting with it for a few days, I decided to say yes to help.

Every little bit helps as I begin the long process of replacing essential items and trying to clean or recover anything that might have made it through the fire.
