Bentley is a beautiful kitty that belongs to my good friend, Jason. We took Bentley to the vet after Jason noticed some blood in the cat box. It was determined by the vet after x-rays and an ultrasound that Bentley has stones in his bladder. So far, these stones have not caused a blockage, but they could at any time. We are advised by the vet that Bentley should have surgery to remove the stones. It would be best to remove the stones as soon as possible before they start to move and cause a blockage, which would be life-threatening.
The estimated cost of surgery is just over $2000. This is simply beyond Jason's finances. SEE UPDATE TO VIEW ESTIMATE OF SERVICES FROM VET.
Jason is disabled and only receives SSI, which is just over $1000 a month. He has no savings as his monthly check barely covers rent, food, utilities, phone, and pet food. He has already paid for the diagnostic tests, which leaves him with nothing more for the month.
Bentley is a very healthy and sweet cat. He was adopted by Jason when he was just a kitten, 7 years ago. He is a strictly indoor cat and has been a faithful companion to Jason. Bentley has a lot of good years ahead if we can get the surgery done before it gets worse.
I am very worried as we are on borrowed time to get Bentley treated before there is a blockage that would require even more costly emergency intervention.
Any amount would help. All funds raised will go to Bentley's vet care.
