Meet Marie –
Her heart is big and her friendship is true and unconditional. Despite her intellectual disability everyone knows her as a social butterfly…visiting house to house, family to family, friend to friend, always asking how everyone is doing.
Growing up in Lenni, Pa. Marie has always been involved with the community and is devoted to family and helping others. She’s a life-long volunteer at local fire companies and is always there for people in need from handing out hot chocolate & coffee to comfort fire victims, helping Santa give out candy to the kids, to writing thank you cards to our Veterans. She loves staying involved with the local softball team, dart league, and pool league along with showing her support to the local Rotary Club.
Unfortunately Marie has had a lot of loss in her life. As a child she lost her father to liver cancer. 19 years ago she lost her older brother to a brain aneurism and recently her mom to cervical cancer leaving her only support system to her sister in law who passed away last year to cancer and her nephew who unfortunately is incarcerated.
You see Marie is one of the bravest people I know. With so much loss in her life, she has never lost hope. In October 2018 during routine testing, a mammogram revealed breast cancer and a brain MRI revealed a tumor. In Dec 2018 Marie underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy followed by 6 rounds of chemo (her last treatment was May). A biopsy is scheduled for the tumor.
Marie now faces the biggest burden ever. Losing her home! The only home she knows with so many family memories. Her childhood home is currently in foreclosure however, she now has an opportunity to purchase a mobile home in a gated community.
Please help us support and raise enough money for Marie to secure a place that she can call her home. All proceeds donated will benefit Marie Cimabue and go directly to Maries housing. The Cimabue family thanks everyone for their prayers and heart-felt support during this difficult and challenging time.
