I'm hitting a milestone birthday this year. So instead of having a midlife crisis, I'm going to make some music instead. It will be like therapy, that I'll share with you. (That's what the people like, right?)
As someone who has been told she was too "music theatre" to be an opera singer, and too "opera" to be in theatre, I had to carve my own path. I don't have a typical pop voice either. And what is "typical" anyway? I'm ready to let my eclectic style shine in my debut album.
I'm a sprinkle of creepy, a dash of weird, a splash of humor, and a truck load of melancholy. I hope to combine all of these things into the album. But I will need help financially. Not just for me, but to pay the amazing artists that will be helping me. This album will not only feature originals by me, it will have a few covers of songs that have meaning to me, as well as original songs by Brooke Maxwell and Jacob Richmond. (Hey, Ride the Cyclone fans- you MIGHT hear a cut song from Cyclone, as well as never-before-heard songs by Brooke and Jacob.) I'll also be employing local artists to help me with artwork, photography, and mastering. (You can already see the work of photographer Rob Riddle of Ghostlight Foto, and hear a snippet of the song World Inside by Brooke and Jacob and mixed by Bryan Robb in the video above.)
Your donation will cover things like-
and the other million things that go into self-producing an album
So if you are interested in hearing music made by a gal raised on Joan Baez, The Beatles, David Bowie, Sondheim, Disney, and Menotti, then give what you can. Even if it is just a dollar because you think "Well, I cant wait to hear what a weird album THIS will be." Every dollar will be appreciated and used well! Thank you!
