Hi, my name is Alexis and I am looking to fundraise to help with the vet costs recently accrued from providing care for my 5 year old cat, Calliope.

She's recently run into some medical issues a few days ago, and it has very quickly amassed a very high bill and I am hoping to receive some assistance in paying these bills.

History:

I noticed on a Thursday that she had not been eating and didn't wake me up in the morning to fill her bowl as she normally did. I got her into the vet as soon as I could that day. Her blood work was fine and the vet felt that maybe something was irritating her mouth and that is why she was not eating. She had not vomited so she was not concerned about a blockage. We were sent home with some pain medication and the first hefty bill.

The following day, she was still not eating and went back to the vet. She was found to be very dehydrated and had some sensitivity around her abdomen. X-rays, ultrasounds, and one exploratory surgery later, nothing was found to be obstructing her bowels but her liver looked abnormal, which could be because of not eating.

At that time, in an effort to ensure she would eat and receive liquids, an e-tube was installed and I have been feeding her via e-tube since. Another very high bill.

Today (Sunday, November 16), when I went to do her second feeding of the day, the test of the e-tube port resulted in liquid coming up. This meant that she needed to be checked at the vet to ensure her e-tube did not shift somewhere else. And because it was Sunday, we had to go to an emergency vet, which is much more expensive due to it being off hours.

Calliope is very important to me. I suffer from depression and find being in large groups emotionally exhausting. Calliope is who comforts me when I am decompressing after a day and loves me unconditionally and I just want to do whatever I can to help her through this and get her eating on her own again and back to her beautiful chaotic self.
