Jaycee Renee is the sweetest 12 year old girl that anyone would ever have the pleasure to know.
On February 14, 2019 Jaycee was diagnosed ATRT which is a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. A GFM was set up at that time with the goal to raise money to help the family with transportation expenses as well as miscellaneous household expenses - anything so the family would have one less worry.
After about 30 radiations treatments and six rounds of chemotherapy Jaycee was considered stable. She was labeled as “no evidence of disease” in August of 2019. She continued quarterly follow up MRI’s. In December of 2020 Jaycee was promoted to the six month time frame for follow ups.
In mid April Jaycee started to not feel well. After several doctor appointments, medical tests and MRIs, we were given the devastating news on May 1 that the cancer has returned. This time the prognosis is much more grim. The cancer not only returned but it had spread to her spine and central nervous system. The medical term is leptomeningeal disease. The easiest way to explain is it’s like a menengitis that is not viral or bacterial, it’s cancer.
At this time Jaycee has resumed radiation treatments as a comfort measure only. We would all love to be able to celebrate her 13th birthday with her in late July. We are hopeful for a miracle as we all know only our Creator knows the day and time when we will walk through the pearly gates of Heaven.
Unfortunately we have been forced to make decisions that no parents or families should ever have to make. We do not have any form of insurance that will cover end of life expenses. We are asking for donations so that we can finalize these decisions and then be able to focus 100% on spending Jaycee’s last days only focused on her.
