Felix is a 2-year-old goldendoodle who was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in his shoulder, which is rapidly moving towards his chest. Felix is in urgent need of radiation treatment to save his life. Without this treatment, there is a poor prognosis. The vets estimate a couple months.
In July of 2023, Felix's parents noticed a lump on his shoulder that quickly grew into a softball size within a few weeks. With their insurance, they were able to schedule surgery in August 2023 to have the softball-sized tumor removed. His vets at the time were confident that he would have a successful recovery and have a long life ahead of him.
Soon after, in October 2023, the tumor came back and more aggressive. After seeking several consultations and getting professional opinions, his only option to survive is to have radiation therapy. Because this is so soon after his initial surgery, the insurance won't cover the costs of the treatment. The insurance policy stated that he would be eligible for partial coverage in July 2024, but his doctors say it would be a miracle if he made it to April.
Felix is only two years old and his family is not ready to let him go. They have provided a loving, caring and affectionate home. He is an amazing, friendly, loving dog who loves to play with his cousins (fur and human). The family would be devasted to see him pass. Any and all donations will go to his immediate treatment and would be deeply appreciated.
