It's never easy to find words that describe hardship for the people we love. This story is just a portion of the life of an amazing woman, wife, and mother, Emily Bergman Gray, of Allakaket. Emily is the mother of five children. Who are; Leonard, Corinna, Caroline, Kaylen, and Daryl. She is married to Theodore Gray of Allakaket, they share over 20 years together. She has 7 grandchildren and another on the way. Emily is an epitome of strength, beauty and great will power. Her battle began in 2016 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Her determination to beat this disease drove her thru several aggressive chemotherapy treatments. Emily has gracefully carried the burden of this sickness and still managed to continue her duties of wife, mother, and provider for her family. Friends and relatives reassured her from time to time that help is always available, but asking for help is never as easy as it sounds. Emily is very resourceful and she used her gift of beading to help provide for her family's needs. Emily is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at the Alaska Native Medical Center. She developed pneumonia during treatment of her cancer. Emily still continues her fight to recovery and needs the love and support of her family. Alaska is a huge state and almost everywhere you travel must be done by air. When medical emergencies arise, our loved ones have no choice but to receive treatment far away from home, and this could seem like a world away for family members who live in the village. We are asking you to help close that gap, the funds of this campaign will be used to cover airfare expenses for Emily's immediate family to travel to Anchorage so that they can be at her side during this trying time, they will also cover living expenses for her immediate family so that they can remain with her and support her when she needs them the most.
