As many of you will know my dad, David Lewis, has suffered with kidney stones for most of his life. He has had 171 stones so far and except for the 2 lithotripsy surgeries 15 years ago he has passed the rest naturally. Now things have changed he has 3 in his right kidney all over 11-12 millimeters each. That's over 3 centimeters of stones trying to tear themselves out of his kidney.Normally they would do surgery or surgeries to explode these and remove them but it is very expensive. Most of you know my dad lost his gym 3 years ago probably because he could never turn his back on people ( gymnast or friends) when they were in need. He went to work for another gym (Infinite Bounds) who helped him get insurance through Obamacare. Not only was it terrible insurance and expensive no one would take it in DFW. So my parents at the end of last year switched to only my Dad being on Obamacare due to his pre-existing kidney stones. When he cancelled the family plan somehow the marketplace terminated his new plan as well. Who could see that coming. He has been fighting and appealing for the past 4 months. Now he is finding out that even if he gets restored no one takes that insurance in DFW. So some of the parents and his friends want to help him get the operation he has been putting off for 4 months.
